Long Time, No Blogging

So alot of things have happened in my sportiverse since the last time I posted (which was back in October). The Redskins' season has really gone to shit with the murder of Sean Taylor. Granted, things were in a downward spiral before his death, but his absence from here on out certainly won't help things. Their win on Thursday against the Bears would probably provide some hope for me if they hadn't been playing so stumbly bumbly. Besides, that victory came with a huge price tag: Jason Campbell's probable season ending injury.

Todd Collins did have a decent performance as a replacement. Note the emphasis on that word. Todd Collins is not a starter. He is a replacement. He is not the season turnaround miracle this team has been waiting for. A collective will to win is the season turnaround miracle the team needs. And when teamwork is a needed miracle you know your team is in some deep shit.

Back in my baseball world, the Nationals traded one of my favorite players, Ryan Church, along with the lackluster Brian Schneider to the damned Mets for rap star...er...outfielder Lastings Milledge. I have to say that I don't know a whole Hell of a lot about Milledge aside from his short lived career as a rapper and the fact that I wasn't too impressed with him the few times I saw him play. While I'm more than positive that the trade will be a success in the long run, I am no less pissed off about the loss of my boy Ryan Church.

The Nationals also acquired Elijah Dukes from Tampa Bay. They may have bitten off more than they can chew with that guy. He's got so many illegitmate children and so many legal troubles I can't even fit it all into this blog. Anything you want to know about him you gotta inform yourself. The overhyped Aaron Boone was also added to the Nationals roster, most likely as a bench player. And they got some pitcher from the Yankees who's not important enough for me to remember his name at the moment.

Edit: I wrote this post before the Redskins went on their end of season tear. So everything negative I wrote about them at the beginning you can completely disregard. I'm very proud of what they accomplished and how they actually looked good doing it...barring that awful playoff performance against the Seahawks.
